TWO more records had fallen while Edwin Allen and St Jago were still atop the points standings at press time on the second and final day of the Milo Central Athletics Championships at GC Foster College yesterday.

 

Edwin Allen's Ristananna Tracey had her second record of the meet as she smashed the Class One girls 800m record, clocking two minutes 06.60 to win and lowering by almost six seconds the mark of 2:12.01 set by Natoya Goule in 2010.

Tracey had won the girls 400m in record time on Thursday.

Tara Sue Robinson threw a record 46.05 metres to claim the Class Two girls discus ahead of Kellion Knibb St Jago with 42.47 and Sheena Powell of Manchester, 39.41.

 

Meanwhile, Desreen Montaque of Edwin Allen claimed the Class Two girls 1500m in 4:48.06 ahead of Vere's Chantal Duncan, 4:52.67, and Amoy Bailey of Holmwood, in 4:54.02.

 

Ryan Holmes stopped the clock at 4:37.1 in the Class Three boys 1500m ahead of Holmwood's Leo Robinson 4:39.9, and Daniel Wint of Manchester, 4:40.22.

 

Nembhard Palmer of Bellefield won the boys 2000m steeplechase after clocking 7:04.07. Shredane Johnson of Holmwood was second in 7:10.41 and Oryane Espeut of Manchester next in 7:11.22.

 

Manchester's Omar McLeod timed 14.88 seconds to win the Class One boys 110 metre hurdles ahead of St Jago's Juwayne Moore (15.17) and teammate Waquar Larrington, 16.19.

 

The girls 100m hurdles was won by Annakay James of St Jago in 14.66 ahead of Manchester's Adrian Brown, 15.01, and Rochelle Williams of Holmwood, 15.15.

 

In the Class Two boys event, Odel Murphy registered 16.36 for victory while Rushaun Cunningham, 17.08, and Daniel Valentine of Jonathan Grant, 17.10, took the minor places.

 

On the girls side, Chrisdale McCarthy of St Jago won in a record-equalling 13.72 ahead of Oshen Erskine of Holmwood, 13.96, Claudette Allen of Edwin Allen,14.36.

 

Vere's Andrenett Knight won the Class Three girls 80m hurdles, clocking 11.88 while Tracy Ann May of Edwin Allen and Tishana Monteith of St Jago were second and third in 11.89.

 

The Class Four girls 70m event went to Britani Thompson of Hydel in 10.90 seconds ahead of Safii Thompson of St Jago, 11.26, and Sydney Marshall of Manchester, 11.52.

 

In the field, Nickosia Hudson of Vere won the Class Three girls discus with 47.33m ahead of Janique Johnson, 44.51, and Shaneil McKenzie also of St Jago, 43.93.

 

The Class Two boys event was won by Adrian Richards of St Jago with 34.80 ahead of teammate Justin Hamilton, 34.56, and Demar Gayle of Edwin Allen, 29.88.

 

Alex Rookwood of Hydel claimed the boys triple jump Open with 12.37m ahead of St Jago's Alex Gooden, 11.10m.

Avril McGhee of St Jago claimed the girls' equivalent with 11.67m ahead of Kimberley Williams of Edwin Allen, 11.63, and Kimberley Stevens of Holmwood, 11.61.

 

Edwin Allen's Lamore Williams won the Class One boys high jump with 1.85 ahead of Orlando Bell of McGrath, 1.80, and Kimari Henry of St Jago, 1.75.

 

After 21 events scored, Edwin Allen led the girls section with 195.5 points with Vere on 139.5 and Holmwood 137.5.

In the boys division, St Jago led with 130 points after 19 events, while Edwin Allen and Manchester had 61 points each.
